Getting in and around Marrakech
Marrakech Airport
When flying to Marrakech, travellers will fly in to the local international airport, Marrakech-Menara International Airport. Marrakech-Menara is located about fifteen minutes outside of the city. Several Moroccan-based airlines, such as Ryanair and Royal Air Morocco, offer affordable flights from major European and African cities. Many flights will land in Casablanca where you can then take a 45 minute flight to Marrakech. However, it is more economical to take the line 19 bus to Marrakech.
When you arrive in Marrakech, you can take a petit taxi to your accommodation unless your hotel has been able to arrange a taxi to pick you up. However, be sure to agree on a price with your driver or ask them to use the meter.
Marrakech Transport
The best way to get around Marrakech is on foot. However, there are other alternatives. Taxis and buses in Marrakech are reliable and relatively affordable. But if you're looking for a more whimsical mode of transportation, try a caleche, or a small horse-drawn carriage. As with taxis, it's best to agree on a price with the driver before you begin your journey.
